I had the honor of attending the 2026 Japanese Wagyu World Auction on behalf of Trex. Trex is a global premium meat company specializing in importing Wagyu from Japan and Australia, while exporting high-quality North American beef worldwide.

I was brought on to travel with the team for a week, documenting their operations and the farms behind their products, with the auction as the focal point of the trip. The event takes place annually in Himeji at the Wagyu Master facility. It is a premier venue for exporting Japan’s highest-grade beef, notably A5 Wagyu, to global markets.

The auction draws top importers, meat wholesalers, and producers from around the world, with Trex earning the Grand Champion title this year as the top purchaser.
